Sarnia - Jesse Cook in Concert: Imperial Theatre Presentation

Jesse Cook was born in 1964 in Paris to parents John, a photographer and filmmaker, and Heather Cook. Growing up in the Camargue region of southern France, Jesse was surrounded by Gypsy music and culture. He heard his calling from an early age, picking up a toy guitar at three years old in an attempt to mimic the sounds of Manitas de Plata, a local resident of the area. The legendary flamenco guitarist would have a lasting impact on Cook for years to come.
After his parents separated, the budding musician moved with his mother and sister to Toronto, where he took lessons at the Guitar Academy with Eli Kassner. Although described as a virtuoso, Cook recalls being an undisciplined pupil who played whatever he fancied and practiced irregularly.
During the summers spent visiting his father in Camargue, however, Cook underwent intensive training sessions, jamming with Gipsy Kings member Nicolas Reyes, who just happened to live next door, and playing at the annual Gypsy festival in nearby Saintes- Maries-de-la-Mer.
Back home, he studied classical and jazz guitar at some of the most prestigious music schools in North America, but promptly tried to forget most of what he had learnt while immersing himself in the oral traditions of Gypsy music - an experience that undoubtedly informed the guitarist's wide ranging musical tastes and passion for world fusion.

For Jesse Cook, it's not awards that drive him. Live concerts remain his lifeblood and with an already impressive career, he is really only just getting started.

International demand for Jesse has risen dramatically over the last year. 2009 has seen him perform concerts across Canada and the United Staes and around the world ......Poland, Italy, Malta and Turkey to mention a few. We are particularly pleased to have Jesse return to Sarnia for his 6th visit to the Imperial Theatre !

Sarnia - The Irish Descendents: Shantero Productions

As the mist rolls in off the Atlantic, the lighthouse at the tip of the bay warning seafarers of the dangers that lurk below, in the distance laughter and music can be heard... the experience known as The Irish Descendants has begun.
Seldom does a band as well-known back home as The Irish Descendants stray far from Newfoundland's shores during the week leading up to St. Patrick's Day. In 2010, consider yourselves lucky because these four men, led by baritone Con O'Brien, are heading to The Imperial Theatre for a show that will draw you to Newfoundland through song, laughter and frivolity. A night sure to tug at the heartstrings of expat and wannabe Newfoundlanders everywhere... It's time to GO GREEN!!!
As the clock strikes midnight on New Year’s Eve, Entertainer of the Year at the East Coast Music Awards, and Juno Award winner for Best Roots/Traditional Artists - The Irish Descendants - will begin celebrating 20 years plying their musical trade. Having graced the stage at festivals and concert halls all over the world, including headlining Newfoundland’s 500th Anniversary Celebration, The Irish Descendants will be representing the Province, along with Great Big Sea, by entertaining at the 2010 Olympic Winter Games! Few bands last from one decade to the next, even fewer continue to make great music, and none continue to attract new fans the way The Irish Descendants do....

Sarnia - Legends of Rock & Roll - Tribute to Buddy Holly, ELvis Presley & Roy Orbison

Featuring : Jeff Scott as Buddy Holly
A native of Newmarket, Ontario, Jeff's love for music led him to Toronto's Humber College. Soon after graduating, he first auditioned for the Royal Alex production of "Buddy", the role, friends said, he was "born to play". Although Jeff didn't land the leading role, he was soon asked to portray the 50's singer while touring the United States with the Kokomo Beach Band. He honed his performance during a six week stay at the Aladdin Casino in Las Vegas.
In time, Jeff would join the cast of Toronto's "Rock and Roll Heaven", a tribute to the rock and roll stars of the 50's and 60's, where he performed for people from all over the world. Since that time, Jeff has entertained audiences with his energetic interpretation of Buddy all over the United States and Canada, traveling as far as Hong Kong.

Selvis Accaputo as Elvis Presley
Sal Accaputo a.k.a. Selvis, has been performing the music of Elvis since he was eight years old. In 1992, Selvis met Charlie Hodge, Elvis's longtime best friend, who had lived at Graceland for 17 years. For a couple of months, Charlie stayed with Selvis in Toronto. "He told a different story every night," says Selvis, who went on to perform with Hodge in La Vegas.

Selvis is known and acclaimed by many celebriries for his strong voice and moving tribute.

In 1983 he recorded an album called Love Me Forever and in 1987, appeared in a film called The Dark Side. Selvis also plays in the movie, In Search of Elvis and is currently involved in a project called The Legends Show.

Mike Mulligan as Roy Orbison
When it comes to going back in time, and recalling the musical influences of the fifties, when rock and roll was still in its infancy, one of its greatest pioneers was Roy Orbison. Not many people can make claim to a tribute to such a magnificent songwriter, and musician. It takes a very gifted person to re-create the mystical, emotional, almost hypnotic presence, that was Roy Orbison's.

Over the span of the past ten years, the name Mike Mulligan has become synonymous with the music and memories of the late, great, Roy Orbison. Mike has spent this time bringing countless audiences together, both across Canada, and the United States, to remember, and partake in the magical voice, and lyrical genius, that was Roy's. His hauntingly realistic portrayal of the musical legend has been continuously received with thunderous acclaim
